Our Virtual Wedding Process
Where do you even start when planning a virtual component to your wedding?
First you need to decide who is going to be with you physically, how they are going to experience the ceremony and what that is going to look and sound like. This part is as close to what a traditional ceremony looks like.
You chose your venue because it was special to you as the couple, but making it a hybrid ceremony to include on-guests will add in a few extra requirements like fast internet and screens or projectors to bridge the online and in-person ceremonies.
Key things to find out from your wedding venue:
What are your venue’s capacity limitations?
What is the internet speed at the venue?
Does the venue have any projectors or large screens to show the online guests, as well as, any videos to the in-person guests?
Once you know your wedding venues capabilities, you can start planning the ceremony.
Planning Your Virtual Wedding
Weddings are meant to reflect your values and they help bring your community around you to celebrate your new status as a married couple and move into a new phase of life together.
With a traditional wedding a lot of emphasis is around the reception and food, in an on-line or hybrid ceremony the emphasis is less on the events around the ceremony (i.e., the rehearsal dinner, the open bar, the dinner) and more on the run of show (or script) for the ceremony itself.
Think about the elements you want to include like dramatic entrances of the celebrants, playing videos of them growing up, toasts from key individuals, readings during the ceremony, cutting the cake, etc.
All of that is possible in on-line or hybrid wedding ceremonies, but you need to think of it more like a theatrical or television production — what comes first what comes next, how will people interact?
What is a Hybrid Wedding?
Think of it like this, there are totally virtual events where everyone is isolated, there are completely in-person weddings where streaming is an afterthought, and there’s a new middle path, where weight is given to both the in-person and online guest’s experiences.
With both virtual and hybrid weddings, you may need to add in roles like virtual usher to help moderate online discussions, as well as, adjusting your run of show to better include your online and in-person guests.
Sample Virtual Wedding (2-4 hours)
Online weddings are relatively new, but that doesn’t mean you need to abandon your vision or traditions. However, you may want to re-order some of festivities in order to bring together the virtual participants and the in-person celebrants.
Mingling and introductions – 30 minutes
Have the groom, the officiant, or virtual ushers welcome everyone and go around and intro folks to the group. Let people explain how they know the couple and start chatting in the chat. This allows people to get there a little late without missing the big moments.
Pre-taped video of the couple – 3-5 minutes
Play a video that encapsulates the relationship, perfect to create in the weeks leading up to the event.
Slide Show of the couple – 3-5 minutes
The traditional slide show of the couple through out the years leading up to the wedding.
Bride Enters The Ceremony – 3-5 minutes
Here is the opportunity to be creative, you can send out a care package to attendees and they can hold up pre-made signs to show their love and support as the bride enters the ceremony.
Ceremony Performed by the Officiant – 15-180 minutes
Have your officiant conduct the ceremony in the tradition of your culture, while your attendees have the option to chat in a fun and meaningful way to show their love and support with you.
Toasts by the wedding party and guests – 30 minutes
Have the toasts and well wishes happen after the ceremony either live or through a pre-taped piece.
Cake/Dance Party/Goodbye – 30 minutes
In your care package to guests, send cupcakes or other favors and have a virtual toast!
“Weddings used to be only about the people in the room, now they can be celebrated with friends and family around the world.”

Virtual Wedding FAQs
What countries do you cover?
United of States America. More countries coming soon.
What streaming platforms do you support?
We support most common streaming destinations like YouTube, Facebook, and Zoom. Apps that stream don’t play as nice, so Instagram, TikTok, and whatnot aren’t going to work. We can make you vision a reality and can help elevate it from just another video conference into something special.
I already have a videographer, can you just handle the online stuff.
Absolutely. Just put us in touch and we’ll make it happen and work with them to make it awesome. We also can send a small in-person team (1-2 people) to assist your videographer or photographer. Currently we offer in-person set-ups in South East Michigan and Northern Ohio.
If the wedding is completely virtual, how do you get the video to stream?
They come from you and your participants devices with our expert help and guidance we get the best picture and sound out of them.
How do virtual wedding rehearsals work?
Yes! We work with you, your officiants and any key speakers on creating the best possible experience. We make sure they are comfortable, have a solid internet connection, and look and sound amazing.
What sort of venue can I stream my wedding from?
We can stream from most anywhere by bringing additional internet connections.
